A bee tends to a chive blossom

As far as nature photography goes, I've sequestered myself to my garden for a bit. I've taken hundreds of photos out there so far this season so everytime I walk out there now, I think "thats it, I've shot it all". The truth though is that I haven't shot anything yet. I've taken lots of pretty flower photos and I've nailed a few frames that I'm proud of, like this photo of a honey bee harvesting nectar from a chive blossom, but I feel that I've yet to produce something unlike anything you might see in any other talented garden photographer's portfolio.

So back to the garden I go. The longer I stare at its nooks and crannies, the more its beauty and mystery will be revealed to me...

Sean Scolnick aka "Langhorne Slim"

Singer/Guitarist Sean Scolnick, Bassist Jeff Ratner and Drummer Malaki DeLorenzo, aka "Langhorne Slim and the War Eagles" kicked some ass this afternoon at CD World in Eugene, Oregon. I was impressed with both how friendly and genuine they were as well as the passion they showed for their music. Even with a lean, hot summer crowd, Slim and the Eagles put it all out there and those lucky few who did brave the sunshine were aptly rewarded.

Big props to CD World, Langhorne Slim and the War Eagles and their manager, Dixie for letting me shoot.
